Ginkaku-ji Temple

"Ginkaku-ji Temple (Japanese: 銀閣寺)" is a Zen Buddhist temple and it is one of the structures that represents the Higashiyama Culture (東山文化 (Higashiyama Bunka), latter half of the 15th century) of Muromachi period (室町時代 (Muromachi jidai), 1333 - 1573). Ginkaku-ji Temple was registered in World Heritage as "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto" in 1994. The formal name of Ginkaku-ji Temple is Jishō-ji Temple (慈照寺). Because the building where this temple is made famous is "Ginkaku (銀閣 = Silver Pavilion)", it is generally called "Ginkaku-ji Temple". The Silver Pavilion of Ginkaku-ji Temple is pavilion construction that imitates Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-ji Temple and is built. Silver is not used against the name of Silver Pavilion at all, and the outside wall is black japan paint. It is an alias that silver is called "Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku)" though is unused to compare with "Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku)" built in the same Muromachi age.
The public transportation facility to Ginkaku-ji Temple is "Kyoto City bus (京都市バス, Kyoto shi basu)". Ginkaku-ji Temple is from the JR Kyoto Station (No. 5 or 100 bus) to about 40 minutes, from the Kinkaku-ji Temple (No. 204 bus) to about 30 minutes, from the Kiyomizu-dera Temple (No. 100 bus) to about 40 minutes.
