Yakushi-ji Temple


"Yakushi-ji Temple (Japanese: 薬師寺)" is Buddhist temple of the Hosso sect (法相宗) that the Emperor Tennmu (天武天皇, Tennmu Tenno) created in Fujiwara-kyo (藤原京) in 680 A.D. of the Asuka period. Yakushi-ji Temple moved to Nishi-no-kyo (西ノ京) that was the present place in the first halfs eight century it transfered the capital to Heijo-kyo (平城京). Yakushi-ji Temple was registered in World Heritage as "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara" in 1998.
The buildings of Yakushi-ji Temple has "East Pagoda, (東塔, To-to)", "Toin-do Hall (東院堂, Toin-do)", "South Gate (南門, Nan-mon)", "Middle Gate (中門, Chu-mon)", "Great Lecture Hall (大講堂, Dai-ko-do)", "Golden Hall (金堂, Kon-do)", "West Pagoda (西塔, Sai-to)", "Genjo-sanzo-in Hall (玄奘三蔵院, Genjo-sanzo-in)", "Yasumigaoka-hachimangu Shinto Shrine (休ヶ岡八幡宮, Yasumigaoka-hachimangu)".
The public transportation facility to Yakushi-ji Temple are "Kintetsu railway (近鉄, Kintetsu)" or "Nara Kotsu Bus (奈良交通バス)". Yakushi-ji Temple closest station is "Kintetsu Nishi-no-kyo Station (近鉄 西ノ京駅)". It walks from the Kintetsu Nishi-no-kyo Station and about 5 minutes.
